On Friday, May 8th, 1998, several game developers who specialize (or try
to, anyway) in game AI got together for the 1st Annual AI Programmer's
Dinner at the CGDC. There were lots of invitees, and 16 people showed
up in all...a respectable number for the first dinner.
The following is the email I sent out to all attendees after the dinner:
Hello Everybody:
This email is going out to everybody who attended the 1st Annual AI
Programmer's Dinner. Neil, Eric, and myself all hope we can make this
an annual event at each CGDC.
All in all, we had a total of 16 people, from 4 different countries
and 14 different companies. I was fortunate enough to sit in the middle of
the table and was able to participate in VASTLY different conversations
no matter which way I turned....frankly, *I* had a blast! ;) The
